SUNDAYS AT 10:00 AM

723 Bank St
Decatur, AL 35601

ARRIVING

Putting the above address in your GPS will bring you straight to The Garden, our building in downtown Decatur. Look for the New Eden Church banner waving out front; you’ll know you’re in the right place.

PARKING

Since we have a downtown location, all parking spaces around our building are open to the public unless clearly marked as private parking. On Sunday mornings, we request some designated areas for New Eden, and you will see signage marking those parking spots.

We try to keep the spots directly in front of our building open for our visitors, elderly or disabled, and expectant or new moms. So, if there is a spot available there, please take advantage of it. 😌

The areas we designate are (1) on the west side of Bank St (facing our building), (2) on either side of Lafayette St, and (3) in the back parking lot of the City Center. (If you park in the City Center lot, please be mindful of the residents and keep noise volume to a minimum. They have graciously allowed us to use their space, and we want to be good neighbors to them.)

See the map below for details.

WALKING IN

Facing the building, the left door is our main entrance. There will be someone at the door to greet you and answer any questions you might have.

If you are a parent or guardian checking in kids, you can use the entrance on the right.

Feel free to stop at the Welcome Table in the Lobby to pick up a bulletin and see other information.

COFFEE

Once you come into the Lobby, we will have locally roasted, freshly brewed coffee ready and available.

RESTROOMS

All restrooms in the building are single-use, family-friendly, and handicap accessible. There is one in the Lobby and two through the Gathering Room in the back of the building. The restroom in the Lobby has a baby changing table.

THE GATHERING ROOM

The Gathering Room is where our main services are held, and it is directly through the double doors in the Lobby.

Young kids are welcome to attend our New Eden Kids’ classes (details below). They are also more than welcome to stay with you for the entirety of our service. We don’t mind the extra noise. :)

During the service, if you need a space to step out for a few minutes with your child, or a space to nurse your baby, the Lobby area is probably the best option. We have a Live Feed, so you can still stay connected with what is going on in the service.

NEW EDEN KIDS

Currently, we offer classes for children through 2nd Grade. You can enter the Genesis Room directly by coming in the exterior door on the right (facing the building). There will be someone to greet you and check your children in. If it is your first time, we will help walk you through the Check-In Process.

Kids in the Infants & Toddlers Class (0-2 yrs) will go to class immediately after they are checked in and stay in class the whole time. Those in the Preschool Class (3-4 yrs) and the School Age Class (K-2nd Grade) will stay with their parents through the first song set (typically three songs). After that, we will dismiss the kids back to their classes. The School Age kids will come back in the service at the very end of the service (during the last two songs).

*If it’s your first time visiting, save time by filling out our Kids Pre-Check Form.

ORDER OF SERVICE

Most weeks, we will sing three songs before the message and two after. We will also have various readings and prayers throughout the service, to direct our hearts toward Jesus and remind us of the good news. These other elements will either be read over the congregation or responsive in nature. song lyrics and other readings will be displayed on the two screens near the front of the Gathering Room.

Below, you can see playlists of the songs we’re singing at our Gathering each week. The first five songs are typically what we’ll sing on Sunday. (The Playlists are typically updated by Thursday of each week.)

We also offer communion after the sermon every week for all those who identify as Christians. (Membership with New Eden is not required to participate in the taking of the elements. Non-Christians are invited to participate through quiet observance.)
